چکیده
Abstract This paper offers a principled account for the nominalizations of dispositional evaluative adjectives. On descriptive side, shows that (i) in addition to largely studied deverbal nominalizations, certain deadjectival can also refer events; (ii) types adjectives enable eventive denotation are specific sort, namely, those deriving from Dispositional Evaluative Adjectives (e.g., imprudent ). At theoretical level, this argues introduce an event description not head but specifier position, as their subject predication; order word have functional structure sort associated verbs, is enough: projections must form head-sequence with event-descriptive heads; without configuration, merge fully-fledged verbal blocked, which explains limitations regarding temporal modification; (iii) The present partial consisting referring Process subevent.

Brain potentials for derivational morphology: an ERP study of deadjectival nominalizations in Spanish.
This study investigates brain potentials to derived word forms in Spanish. Two experiments were performed on derived nominals that differ in terms of their productivity and semantic properties but are otherwise similar, an acceptability judgment task and a reading experiment using event-related brain potentials (ERPs) in which correctly and incorrectly formed derived words were presented in sen...

متن کاملCorpus-based acquisition of German event- and object-denoting nouns
This paper presents a simple distributional method for acquiring event-denoting and object-denoting nouns from corpora. Its core is a bootstrapping cycle that alternates between acquiring new instances and new features, using a simple log odds ratio for filtering. We acquire 3000 German nouns for each class with precisions of 93% (events) and 98% (objects), respectively. 1 Events and Objects Wh...
متن کاملAn Overview on Portuguese Nominalizations
We discuss nominalizations in Portuguese formed by the suffix -ura. We have done a corpus-based description of the behavior of these nominals and proposed a type ontology to categorize them. In order to offer a rich description, we also tested all words formed by -ura in co-predication contexts to check if their types could be co-predicated. Although our main goal was to produce a corpus-based ...
